Plan A Visit

Whether you’ve attended churches a lot in life or have never attended a church service before, it helps to know a little about what to expect ahead of time. So here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions when people are interested in visiting at FCCC.

  • We have three different worship services at FCCC: two on Sundays at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, and one during the week on Wednesday at 7:00 pm. Feel free to show-up a few minutes early. Some of our folks would be delighted to show you around before service starts-- to help you get familiar with our setting. If you have children who would like to participate in our Sunday children’s ministry at 11:00am, we recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the service.

  • You’ll find that we’re pretty casual – jeans and boots, t-shirts and tennis shoes, slacks, dresses – it’s all good. You won’t find many suits and ties, but if that’s what you’re comfortable wearing, go for it.

  • Our services take place in the main building of FCCC. For Sunday services, the welcome center and worship area are through the double doors on the right as you approach the front of the building. Signs will direct you toward the main door. When you walk through the front doors, you’ll be greeted by a friendly team of volunteers. If you have kids that you’d like to register for children’s ministry, we have a child check-in system inside those main doors and will gladly get your family registered in a matter of minutes. And if you’re like many of us and need that ‘2nd cup’ of coffee or tea, we offer free drip coffee and tea in the foyer of the worship area.

For Cowboy Church on Wednesdays, the double doors to the left enter directly into the fellowship hall. Signs will point you in the right direction.

  • It’s up to you. On Sundays we have special opportunities for children through 5th grade in our 11:00 service. But if you’d like, you may worship together as a family. It’s up to you.

In addition to our mid-week student ministries, we encourage students in our middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) ministries to attend Sunday services with friends or family.

On Wednesday evenings the service is designed as a family worship experience, so our children join everyone for worship together in the Carlton Chapel.

  • Each of our services - the traditional service at 9:00 am Sunday, the contemporary service at 11:00 am Sunday, and Carlton Cowboy Church at 7:00 pm Wednesday - has a different feel. If you are new to churches, we invite you to try each to find the worship ‘style’ that seems most natural for you. If you have attended church before, you may already know the style that is the best fit for you. All of our services have a similar, simple worship format, and are about an hour in length as a general rule.

If you like choirs, hymns, and that traditional church feeling, then the 9:00 Sunday service is for you. Our traditional service has been the main-stay of our fellowship for over 60 years.

If you like more modern forms of praise and worship music, the 11:00 Sunday service may appeal to you. It incorporates contemporary expressions of faith as we worship God in a relaxed, modern setting.

If your musical tastes lean toward country/western, Carlton Cowboy Church on Wednesdays at 7:00pm may suit you just right. Just show up with your jeans, your hat, and a hunger in your soul. With our country Christian band playing you may even find yourself singing along.

  • We promise we won't point you out publicly! You can remain completely anonymous if you wish. We will try to introduce ourselves, and, if you'd like, share some information about who we are. And don’t be surprised if you can’t make it out the door without people greeting you and trying to make you feel welcome and feel at home. But we don't want to be pushy, so we try to leave the decision on how much you learn and how much you share in your hands.
