Our Vision

When you visit a church, there are some things you can find out pretty quickly. The core beliefs that drive what a church does and the binding ties that hold a church together take a little longer to uncover. We want to take some of the mystery out of that. Here are some of the key things you may want to know about Florence Carlton Community Church - what we do, why we do what we do, and what we believe. We're not perfect in any of these things, but they represent the calling we feel from the God who created us and Jesus, our Lord who saves us.

  • We exist as a church for the purpose of inviting ALL on a life-changing journey with Jesus. That's what we try to do, and we take it seriously. When we say ALL, we mean it. No matter who we are, where we've been, what we've done or what we do - ANYONE who wants to find out what Jesus wants in their life, we're ready to take the journey with you as far as you will go. But let's be clear - we challenge ourselves to genuinely become disciples, people who follow Jesus and inspire others to follow Jesus. When you spend time with the followers of Jesus here at FCCC, you will be challenged to engage with Jesus, who He is and what He represents. You will be challenged to consider and trust that He is the Son of God, sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins and resurrected as the promise of our eternal life. You will be challenged to consider living life as He teaches his followers, adopting His values and worldview as your own, in place of your own. Here you will be challenged to consider what He would embrace and what He would change in EVERY area of your life, and act on the results.

  • We have found there are four behaviors that, when mixed together in our lives, deepen our relationship with Jesus personally and help us live like Jesus collectively. They help us become followers of Jesus that inspire others to follow Jesus. We’ve also discovered that these behaviors are designed to affect our heart most deeply in a community of faithful followers of Jesus. So we encourage everyone who wants to follow Christ to join a faith community and put these four practices in the mix of their lives.

    Worship

It’s vital to worship God genuinely, in a community of faith. It’s important to gather with others as a group, set our own schedules and lives on hold, and together give God praise and adoration He is due from all.

    Spiritual Growth

Engaging with a group of fellow followers helps us to understand who Jesus is more completely, can help us understand the scriptures more fully, can help us see the best Christ has put in us, and can challenge us to see where He might want to change us. Regular participation in a small group of Christians pursuing Christ in study and prayer is a key to becoming a faithful follower.

    Christian Service

Jesus becomes most real to us when we engage in tangible, face-to-face service of another person in His name. Regular Christian service in the church or in the community is important for our journey with Christ.

    Sharing Our Experience With Jesus

Letting other people know in an authentic way what God has done in us, and how Jesus has changed us, is the fourth behavior we seek to add to our lives. It’s the point where we simply share our experience, and invite people to experience Jesus for themselves.

  • We value:

    Giving GOD Glory

We offer our time, talent and resources to glorify God in corporate worship, personal growth, service and outreach opportunities.

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!

    Psalm 115:1 (ESV)

Advancing His KINGDOM rather than our church

We intentionally build partnerships with other Christ centered people and organizations to build up the body of believers worldwide.

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

    Romans 12:4-5 (ESV)

    Engaging PEOPLE in transforming relationships

We love people as Jesus loves us by quietly offering a tangible humanitarian touch to those who struggle emotionally, physically, financially or spiritually.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace

    1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)

ACCEPTANCE of all by expressing Jesus' grace and love

We accept each individual's unique story and walk with them in their journey with Jesus.

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

    Romans 15:7 (ESV)
