Berea Ministries,

Our Purpose

We have purposed to…

  • win the lost, educate and train them in the basics of discipleship.
  • establish and build churches for their fellowship and growth.
  • operate with financial integrity, disbursing all contributions for the purposes for which they have been given.

Training nationals to win their own people to Christ has been Berea Ministries’ primary focus from the beginning. We propose to fortify our ministers by providing training and assisting with salary supplements, building materials, supplies and equipment. Our goal is to aid our pastors to plant churches which will then multiply themselves and extend the witness of our Lord.

Our Prospect

The growing proportion of Hispanic peoples in the United States constitutes one of the most dramatic demographic shifts in recent American history. They are increasing at four times the rate of the rest of the population. Hispanics are expected to surpass African-Americans as the largest minority group in the nation by the year 2005. One in every four people will be of Hispanic decent.

In the lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, the Hispanic population is now 80 percent. U.S. News and World Report says that Hidalgo County, one of the nation’s poorest, is the most prominent center in the nation for Mexican culture. The center of Berea’s ministry is in that county, at Weslaco, Texas. This strategic location positions us to make the greatest impact on those in Mexico,as well as others who are comming into the United States. With its more than one hundred million people, opportunities for service abound all over Mexico. They are reaching out to us for help in winning their own people to Christ before it is too late. We must not turn them away!
