Are you hurting?

Sometimes life just seems to go wrong. We suddenly get laid off from our jobs or a loved one receives tragic news from their doctor. Loving relationships can turn bitter. Natural disasters can wipe out a lifetime of work in a few moments and loved ones can be taken away suddenly.

At times we can be the victims of crimes or needless accidents or random violence. During some seasons in our lives it can feel like we are always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

In hard times it can be easy to succumb to discouragement or depression and develop a cynical outlook.

But the hard times also force us to ask;
“What do I really believe in?”

If we put our faith in other people or material things, we will ultimately be disappointed. How about you? Where do you put your faith?

Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; -2 Chronicles 20:1

God wants us to put our faith in Him and in His promises. God promised to deliver the Hebrews from Egypt and he did. God promised to send a Savior for mankind, and he did. God promises to transform our lives, to forgive our sins and make everything new, and he does.

God promises to never leave us or forsake us, to comfort us, renew our spirits and wipe the tears from our eyes. He promises that if we place our faith in him, we will not be disappointed.
