Think Good Thoughts: Controlling What You Think

Think Good Thoughts: Controlling What You Think

I must confess that it is, somewhat at least, a unwelcome time of year for me. Fall approaches. I love the spring and summer. Spring and summer are the seasons of beginning and living. Color and life return to the world. The long light of the spring and summer months makes me look forward to the possibilities of the day. I enjoy the warmth of the summer months – even the 90+ degree days don’t dampen my enthusiasm for the season. Fall signals a closing of spring and summer’s beauty and opportunities. It starts to get cold. Daylight starts to slip away. The beauty of the flowers has started to fade. And though it has some small compensations to recommend it – comfortable afternoons, football, and the Yankees in first place – by and large fall does not seem to me the best time of year.

  1. Fall- what a glorious time of year. All the leaves turning color and the smell of autumn in the air. It reminds me of being a child and jumping into piles of leaves. It’s amazing how something as simple as a pile of leaves can bring you back to your roots, and help you remember what it was like to love and trust God the way a child does.
